What you will be doing

• Advising senior management and the transaction banking area on EU payments-related regulations, including PSD2/PSD3, SEPA, AMLD6, GDPR, EMD2/EMD3, and relevant outsourcing guidelines.

• Drafting, structuring, and maintaining a full suite of English-language transaction banking agreements, including T&Cs, account agreements, payment services terms, and onboarding documentation for EEA clients.

• Leading regulatory compliance initiatives, ensuring that the bank meets licensing, reporting, and operational requirements across European jurisdictions.

• Providing legal risk assessment and mitigation strategies for the bank’s transaction banking activities.

• Acting as a trusted legal advisor to senior stakeholders, balancing business enablement with regulatory compliance.

What we expect from you

• Legal background: 7+ years of experience in EU financial services regulation, preferably in payments, transaction banking, and/or fintech.

• Regulatory expertise: Deep knowledge of PSD2/PSD3, AMLD6, SEPA rulebooks, GDPR, and EBA outsourcing guidelines.

• Contract drafting skills: Ability to create and negotiate client-facing transaction banking agreements that facilitate seamless onboarding across the EEA.

• Strategic mindset: Proactive problem-solver who can provide clear, commercially viable legal advice to relevant stakeholders.

• Adaptability & drive: Thrives in a scaling environment, with a hands-on approach to building legal frameworks from the ground up.

• Collaboration & communication: Strong ability to engage with internal teams, external counsel and regulators, explaining complex legal matters with clarity.

• Fluent in English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Danish is preferred but not a requirement.

Above all, you are commercially minded and motivated by enabling kompasbank’s growth, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate legal challenges and proactively mitigate risks.
