Denmark’s newest business bank, kompasbank, has had a strong start and is expanding its team with three new Business Advisors from Danske Bank and Spar Nord. The new hires will be responsible for advising the bank’s clients in Southern Denmark, Central Jutland, and Greater Copenhagen.

kompasbank, which focuses on simplifying access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Denmark, has been well received in the market. The bank is bringing on Andreas Rasmussen and David Holm Egebro from Danske Bank’s business units in Kolding and Copenhagen, respectively, while Kenneth Bertelsen joins from Spar Nord’s business department in Herning.

The new digital business bank offers loans ranging from DKK 0.5 to 10 million to the SME segment, addressing the challenges that small and medium-sized companies face in securing loans for capital investments and other growth initiatives.

“We’ve approached businesses with a sharp focus on providing tailored financing solutions on their terms, and it’s clear that the flexibility we offer in our advisory services is something they haven’t experienced before. To keep up with demand, we’re expanding our team with three Business Advisors who bring a lot of drive, creativity, and customer focus,” says Michael Hurup Andersen, Founder & co-CEO of kompasbank, and continues:

“As a digital bank, we don’t have branches or cumbersome, slow systems. This gives us the freedom to prioritize local presence and fast delivery. Our Business Advisors always visit businesses where they are—whether that’s Gedser or Skagen. This saves our clients travel time and results in faster processing, while also allowing businesses to showcase exactly what they’re passionate about.”

Andreas Rasmussen (45) will join kompasbank as Business Advisor for Southern Denmark from September 1. Andreas brings over 16 years of experience from similar positions at Danske Bank and has also served as a Business Advisor at Realkredit Danmark. He holds an HD in Accounting and Financial Management from Copenhagen Business School.

David Holm Egebro (30) will start as Business Advisor for Greater Copenhagen on September 1. David comes from a role as a Business Advisor at Danske Bank and holds an HD in Financing from Copenhagen Business School.

Kenneth Bertelsen (32) will join kompasbank as Business Advisor for Central and Western Jutland on August 10. Kenneth’s most recent role was as a Business Advisor at Spar Nord, and he has previously worked as a Major Account Advisor and Business Advisor at Nykredit and Ringkjøbing Landbobank. He holds an HD in Financing and an HD in Accounting and Financial Management, both from Aarhus University.

The three new Business Advisors will be responsible for credit assessment, advising, and building their own portfolios of small and medium-sized enterprises seeking loans in the range of DKK 0.5 to 10 million.
